Murder Victim. The crime in via Carlo Poma was the murder of Simonetta Cesaroni, which was committed on the afternoon of Tuesday August 7, 1990 in an apartment on the third floor of the complex in via Carlo Poma n. 2 in Rome. The case was never solved. Over the years numerous investigations were carried out and various leads hypothesized with multiple people accused of the crime between 1990 and 2011, first the porter of the building where the murder took place, then the victim's employer, followed by the father of a tenant in the building, and finally the victim's boyfriend, but all were cleared of the charges. The case attracted a great deal of public interest and books, numerous in-depth television broadcasts, and a full-length television film in 2011.
