LeRoy Curtis Aasheim, 80, passed away at Logan Health (Kalispell Regional Medical Center) Nov. 5, 2021. LeRoy was born June 9, 1941, (a twin) to Joseph and Mabel (lhla) Aasheim in Bottineau, North Dakota. LeRoy attended elementary schools in that area. He worked on his sister Jean's and brother-in-law Leo Zorn's farm then moved to Lewistown, where he worked on a farm also.
About age 18, he joined a construction crew as a lineman that installed telephone poles, line and telephones starting at Kadoka, South Dakota, then moved with the crew to Faith, South Dakota, with Wally and Lester. LeRoy joined the Army May 7, 1959, and later received an honorable discharge.
LeRoy moved to Kalispell in 1996 and worked at Orly's Supper Club with his twin brother Lester. He later worked for Bob Harvey Christmas Tree Lot plus at Bob's Ranch on Farm to Market. LeRoy worked for Milwaukee Railroad during his stay in Renton, Washington. He also worked at C&C Plywood, Plum Creek Lumber plus other farming jobs in Kalispell. Later in life he injured his back so he retired.
LeRoy liked Western music and learned and enjoyed playing the guitar. He also enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. He was a kind and good man who enjoyed helping his neighbors and friends whenever he could. LeRoy believed in Jesus Christ who was his Lord and Savior.
LeRoy was proud that he quit drinking and that he had Millie Heister in his life. He and Millie took care of each other for over 50 years.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mabel (lhla) Aasheim, his twin brother Lester C. Aasheim Sr., brothers Wally Aasheim and wife Pat Aasheim, Jim Aasheim, Glenn Aasheim, sister Arlene and husband Vern Highness, stepbrother Jerome Allison, Millie Heister, his friend for over 50 years, and Bailey "Bales," who was part of the end of his life for 16 years.
LeRoy is survived by sister Jean Zorn. Jean's families are: Connie (Roger) Landsverk and families, Linda (Gerald) Lumley and families, Nancy (Ed) Koiford and families, Cindy (Gene) Putnum and families, Lori (Steve) Carbno and families. Note: These five nieces said they adored their Uncle LeRoy; sister Dorothy (Charles) Smith. Dorothy's families are: Jody (Ben) Fosythe, Chuck (Trista) and family, Jason Smith and Brandy Braddam, Andrea (Chris) Liebel and family; brother Clayton (Connie) Aasheim. Clayton's families are: Coy (Laura) Aasheim and families, Chad (Christine) Aasheim and family, Cal and Monica and family; brother Bill (Terry) Aasheim. Bill's families are Pat Aasheim and family, Tangee (Dana) Sanderson and family, Jackie (Don) Ray and family, Chelsie (Jesus) Gaytan; sister-in-law Marilynn Aasheim. Marilynn's families are: Lois (Terry) Heckman and families, Lester Aasheim Jr. and Val Jaxson, Joyce (Darrel) Bosket and families; sister in-law Elaine (Jim) Aasheim and family.
Viewing will be Friday, Nov. 12, 5 to 6 p.m. at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Services will be held at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home Saturday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. Burial will be at C.E Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the Elks Lodge, 1820 Hwy. 93 South at noon.
