Marlene Ina Clark Alster passed away on September 18, 2021, in Houston, Texas with her family by her side. She was born on January 6, 1960, in Houston, Texas to Claude and Ina (Mann) Clark.

Marlene grew up in Southeast Houston and attended Milby High School and later San Jacinto College. Wanting to follow in her brother's footsteps and become a police officer, she joined the Harris County Sheriff's Office with academy class B2 1991. Marlene medically retired on April 30, 2002, after serving 12 ½ years with the department working in various units from the jail to transportation.

Sunsets, fields of bluebonnets, yellow roses, traveling, and riding on the back of her husband's Harley Davidson Ultra Limited were some of her passions. She enjoyed all of them as much as possible before passing away from complications of Covid-19.

A visitation for Marlene will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
