Mrs. Phinetta Belt of Stinnett passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 1935, from the effects of a stroke of paralysis.
Mrs. Belt's maiden name was Phinetta Young. She was born at Mauston, WI, in 1859. She was married to John Belt in 1876 in the village of Bass Lake, Blue Earth county, MN. The family came to Hayward in 1899 and remained here since.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and seven children, Miss May Belt, Mrs. Dan Wade, Mrs. George Wade and Dewey Belt, all of this city; William Belt of Everett WA; Mrs. Agnes Lozier of Geradine, Montana; Mrs. Elizabeth Williams of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Two children preceded her ind eath.
Mrs. Belt was a devoted and seemingly untiring mother, earnest and conscientious in her duties. The spoken wish of the children is, "We wish we could be as good as mother."
The funeral was held from the Congregational church Sunday afternoon, Rev. EJ Davies officiating. Interment in Greenwood cemetery.
