HAMILTON, Nancy B., 78, wife of John A. Hamilton and co-founder with him of Hamilton Productions Inc., an independent television production firm, died on October 25, 2007 at Sunrise Assisted Living in McLean, Va. She suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. A former Women's Club Editor of the Richmond Times Dispatch, she graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C., and received her master's degree in English from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She was both an educator and a journalist, teaching in the public schools in Winston-Salem, N.C., and in addition to the Richmond Times Dispatch, working for the Salisbury Post, the New York Journal-American, McCall's and the New York Times. As co-founder and senior vice president of Hamilton Productions Inc., she supervised many of its corporate and on-air productions, serving as the producer of several public affairs programs on WPIX-TV, Channel 11 in New York City, and as an on-camera correspondent for its "Watch on Washington" series. Featuring members of Congress and airing on PBS stations across Virginia, North Carolina and much of the country, this series was honored with an Emmy Award by the Washington Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jay of Arlington; a daughter, Anne Hamilton Deger of McLean; and four grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Frances Bradsher Busby of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, 6715 Georgetown Pike, in McLean, Va. 22101. A memorial service will be held there for her on November 2, 2007 at 3 p.m. Burial was conducted at a private service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond.
