W. T. Batchelder was one of the oldest settlers in this country and has been extensively interested in mining both in Gilpin and Clear Creek counties. He came to Idaho Springs 1871.
Out of a family of twelve, of which he was the second born, five sisters and three brothers survive him. Mr. Batchelder was married twice. He leaves one daughter with his first wife and his second wife Elizabeth Taylor Batchelder.
Mr. Batchelder died after suffering from brights disease after many years.
