Eleanor "Lucky" (Ascher) Lappen, born on 26 July 1927 in Jackson, Mississippi, the daughter of Isaac Simon Ascher and Minnie (Hirsch) Ascher, died on 17 September 2019. Her parents; her husband, Stanley Julian Lappen, whom she married on 28 April 1949 at Temple Beth Israel in Jackson; and her only sibling, Joan (Ascher) Cahn, preceded her in death. Three children and their spouses; seven grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters survived her. In lieu of flowers Mrs. Lappen's family suggested memorial contributions to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization she had long supported.
