Mildred Fowler was born in Eatonton, to the late Marlin Raleigh Fuller and Callie D. Nina Whitman Fuller.
She grew up in the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home in Hapeville. She attended college one year at Norman Park College. After college, she began working for the state of Georgia as a secretary and retired after 42 years. Her last position was working in the Labor Department in Atlanta.
Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monroe. She enjoyed attending yard sales, cleaning, shopping, going on cruises, but above all, she loved being with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chad Pierce and five brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Ronald “Ron” Fowler of Monroe; son, Walter Pierce of Morgan; daughter, Kim Fowler of Buford; grandchildren, Sealy Pierce, Seth Pierce, Hunter Burdette, Katlyn Burdette and Austin Davis; and sisters, Becky (Harold) Barge of Lizella, Fran Trent of Fairburn and Nina (Richard) Edwards of McDonough; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2021, at Callie Fuller Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Todd Ware will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Edwards, Perry Edwards, Eric Edwards, Tim Fuller, Sammy Gardner and Marty Fuller. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Fuller, Dusty Fuller, Cody Womack, Clint Fuller and Richard Edwards.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home 9250 Hutchinson Ferry Road, Palmetto, Ga. 30268.
