Film and theater actor. Claude Brasseur was a French film and stage actor.
Brasseur worked in more than 150 film and television productions from the 1950s on and was one of the most famous actors in French cinema. He had his breakthrough in 1964 in Jean-Luc Godard's film "The Outsiders Gang" as Arthur. In Germany, Brasseur was best known in the early 1980s in the role of François Beretton in the films "La Boum" and "La Boum 2" alongside Brigitte Fossey and Sophie Marceau.
In addition to acting, Brasseur was particularly interested in motorsport. From 1981 to 1986 he regularly took part in the Paris – Dakar rally as co-driver; Together with the former Formula 1 driver Jacky Ickx, he won the 1983 race in a Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
