Argin was the daughter of John and Rebecckah Holtzclaw Capps. She was born in Fayette County, Kentucky. In about 1826 her family moved to Clay County, Missouri. Here is where she married Archibald H. Adams on February 8, 1842. Argin's mother, Rebecckah, and Archibald's mother, Sarah, were sisters. They continued to live the remainder of their lives in this same county. Archibald and Argin has one daughter, Catherine. They also took in her sister's son, little James Sebree. Son of Edmund S. and Lutitia Dudley Capps Sebree after the death of Lutitia. James died at the very early age of nine and is buried next to his mother.
