Mrs. House had lived in Murrieta for 56 years. She worked for 10 years as a part-time secretary for Murrieta Fire Protection District, and occasionally gave piano lessons for many years. She owned and maintained a chicken ranch with her husband Gordon, from 1945 to 1965. The family operated a Christmas tree farm from 1968 to 1988. Mrs. House also worked as a part-time secretary for the Murrieta Valley Cemetery District for 10 years.
She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and musically entertaining at convalescent homes with her husband. Mrs. House enjoyed teaching Sunday school and was a church pianist, doing both for more than 50 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Group, and was actively involved in square dancing activities from 1960 to 1990. She was a member of the Murrieta Parent-Teacher Club from 1949 to 1960 and again from 1967 to 1970. She is survived by daughters Marjorie Neal of Dayton, NV, and Carolyn Greywood of Riverside; and sons Loyd House of Nuevo and Steve House of Murrieta. Also surviving are grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Although the marker does not so indicate, also interred in this plot are the ashes of Loyd Caldwell (father of Virginia Caldwell House) & Louisa Caldwell (sister of Virginia Caldwell House).
