Irene Spencer, 89, formerly of Winchester, died at 8pm, Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Wolfe County Health Care Center, Campton, KY, after a long illness. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Campton, a retiree of the Wolfe County Health Department, the daughter of the late James and Anna Lovins Spencer. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Cecil and Mrs. Bryan (Alice) Mullins, one brother, Jesse (Arizona) Spencer, four half-sisters, Deborah Brooks, Genoah McQuinn, Eliza Tyra and Mary Turner, four half-brothers, Henry H. Spencer, Thomas C. Spencer, James L. Rose and George D. Rose, also a special nephew and niece, Jesse and Carletta Cecil. Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. Bob (Bessie) Morris of Winchester, Anna Lois Scigliano of Champion, PA, Mrs. Terry (Edna) Baker, Santa Barbara, CA, four nephews, Roger (Linda Kay) Cecil of Campton, Murrel (Sheila) Cecil of Winchester, James B. (Helen) Spencer of Munhal, PA and Stanley J. Mullins of Winchester, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be nephews, Micheal D. Cecil, Larry D. Morris, Garry L. Morris, Zachary L. Morris, Aaron Hornsby and Eric Rose. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tue at Porter & Son Funeral Chapel by Bro. Tony Cecil and Rev. David Gross. Burial in Evans Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Mon. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Methodist Women, c/o First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 159, Campton, KY 41301.
