Coy Leonard, Jr. age 75 of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee.
He was a son of Coy and Leona Leonard, born to them on May 22, 1944 in Appalachia, Virginia.
Coy graduated from Appalachia High School and later received his Bachelor of Science degree from Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
Coy was employed by IBM, White Plains, New York and upon retiring, accepted a position as Senior Vice President, CIO at Ohio Causality Insurance Company of Hamilton, Ohio.
Along with his parents, Coy is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Sherri Leonard Carroll, formerly of Jonesborough, Tennessee.
Coy is survived by his wife, Barbara Leonard (West Chester, Ohio); his son, Mark Leonard (West Chester, Ohio); his son-in-law, Melvin G. Carroll (Jonesborough, Tennessee); his brother and sisters: Charles Leonard (Summerville, South Carolina), Linda Rebholz (Ft. Pierce, Florida), Nora Boy (Altha, Florida), and Betty Carroll (Chattanooga, Tennessee.)Coy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends left behind to cherish his memory.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday after 5:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services for Coy Leonard will be conducted on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services of Johnson City with Minister Steve Crider officiating. A graveside and committal service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
Family members and friends serving as pallbearers. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the cemetery no later than 10:50 A.M.
