Floyd Olive
FALLBROOK - Floyd Olive, a 36-year Fallbrook resident, died May 14 at a local convalescent hospital. He was 82.
Born July 23, 1905 in Wayne County, Tenn., he lived in Stockton and the Imperial Valley before moving to Fallbrook in 1952.
Owner and operator of the Fallbrook NAPA Auto Parts store for 27 years, he retired in 1983. Before the auto parts store, he owned Floyd's Paving and Blacktopping in Fallbrook. He was a member of the Fallbrook Masonic Lodge No. 317, F&AM.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Opal; daughter, Darlene L. Shaeffer of Fallbrook; son Jerry R Olive of Fallbrook; sisters, Clara Powell of Oakdale, Calif., Ida Hughes of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Carrie Hughes of Summertown, Tenn., brother, James H. Olive of Houston; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Berry-Bell and Hall Mortuary in Fallbrook. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Berry-Bell and Hall Chapel with the Fallbrook Masonic Lodge No. 317, F&AM officiating. Burial will follow at the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1340 W. Valley Parkway, Suite 202, Escondido.
