Clement TOPLIFF and his wife, Sarah, probably came to Dorchester about 1635-37 in the "Second Emigration." (Winthrop's Fleet). There is some evidence that they may have come from Ipswich, Essex County, England. They had children:
Jonathan TOPLIFF, b. Apr 1637, died young;
Sarah TOPLIFF (1639-1683) m. 11 May 1659 David JONES;
Obedience TOPLIFF (1642-1678) m. 20 Feb. 1659 David COPP;
Samuel TOPLIFF (1646-1722) m.1670 Patience TRESCOTT;
Patience TOPLIFF (1644-1696) m. 27 March 1667 Nathaniel HOLMES.
