Singer, Musician. He was a co-founder of the rock band Beyond, which was formed in 1983. He was the lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter of the band. He grew up in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong, and taught himself to play the guitar. After graduating secondary school, he went on to work in several jobs. In 1983, he, along with drummer Yip Sai Wing, guitarist William Tang and bassist Lee Wing Chiu participated in a contest with the band name Beyond. His younger brother Wong Ka Keung, and Paul Wong eventually joined the band. In 1986, the band released their first album "Goodbye Ideal". In 1989, they won Song of the Year for the song "Truly Love You" at the Jade Solid Gold Awards. In 1991, they released the song "Amani", which was about the aid of refugee children in Africa and call for peace. In 1992, they moved their career on to Japan, and released another album titled "Continue the Revolution". In 1993, while filming a game show in Japan, Wong fell head-first off a three-meter platform, and fell into a coma. He died a week later due to injuries. Their song "Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies" has been one of the band's most famous songs. In 2005, a stamp of him was issued under the Hong Kong Pop Singers series, including Danny Chan, Roman Tam, Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui.
