Actor. A Taiwanese-Canadian actor best known for portraying Magnus Bane in the 2013 film “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” He was born in Taipei and was the son of a Taiwanese father and Malaysian mother. He grew up in Vancouver, finishing his education before moving back to Taiwan with his family in 2004. Gao began portraying minor roles in Chinese television dramas in 2006, and had his first starring role as “Bai Qianrui“ in the television drama, Volleyball Lover (2010). He then portrayed in the Mandarin version of Toy Story 3 (2010) as Ken. In 2011, he appeared as the first Asian model on Louis Vuitton. Gao filmed in a Chinese romantic comedy, Wedding Bible (2015), portraying the role of Chikai. Gao then won two awards at the Chinese American Film Festival for playing the role of Tom in The Jade Petulant (2017). Gao then portrayed the role of Xia Yize in the Chinese fantasy-adventure-action film, Legend of the Ancient Sword (2018). One of his final films that were publicly released was Shanghai Fortress (2019), portraying the role of Yang Jiannan.
