Joyce Muriel Ryser & Robert A. DeGooyer

"Together forever"

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister Joyce Ryser passed away April 24, 2012 at St. Mark's Hospital, exactly 24 hours prior to the death of her husband, Robert "Bob" DeGooyer.

Married 27 years, they loved being with each other and winning jackpots in Wendover. Joyce, a life-long resident of Salt Lake City, was born June 14, 1934, to Anthony M. and Muriel Beck Crus. She graduated from South High and Stevens-Henager College and worked for several years as secretary for the Salt Lake Bees and was an executive secretary at the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources until she retired.

"God saw you were getting tired, so He put His arms around you and whispered, 'Come with me'. With tearful eyes we watched you fade away. Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, working hands put to rest. God breaks our hearts to prove to usHe only takes the best."

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Julie (David) Ryser; grandson, Jeffrey Ryser; two great-grandsons; and brothers Jack (Joan) Crus and Roger (Dawn) Crus. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Ryser, who died tragically in 1980, and her parents.

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Robert Arnold DeGooyer died on April 25, 2012. He was born January 20, 1932 in Salt Lake City, the youngest of 14 children of Henry and Wilhelmina Esmeyer DeGooyer.

He married Doris Edmunds on February 11, 1950. She died November 7, 1970.

He married Joyce Ryser. She died the day before he did.

Bob had a great sense of humor. He loved his Denver Broncos and trips to Wendover. He is survived by daughters, Darcy and Roxanne, and son, Reg; stepdaughter, Julie; sisters, Betty (Glen) Romero and Jean Pence; eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Graveside services for both Bob and Joyce will be held Monday, April 30, at 12:00 Noon at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and N Street. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons.
