Following a long period of ill health, Mrs. George Harrison, the former Anna Ellery, and one of Ingersoll's best known and esteemed residents, passed away at her residence, 146 King St. W., on Thursday, June 13th in her 91st year. Left to mourn her passing are three daughters, Mrs. Edna Scanlon, Tillsonburg; Mrs. Albert Quinn [Minnie] of Salford; and Miss Dora, at home. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon from the Walker & Clifton Funeral Home, 88 King St. W., with Rev. Murray A. MacDonald officiating, assisted by Rev. S. R. Cooper of the Salford United Church at 2 o'clock. The service was very largely attended and representatives of the Ingersoll and Salford branches of the WCTU attended in a body. The numerous beautiful floral tributes further testified to the high esteem in which Mrs. Harrison was held. A vocal solo was sung during the service by Mrs. Reg Bradfield, accompanied by Harold Riddolls. Entombment was made in the Ingersoll Mausoleum. The casket bearers were Fred Richens, Earl Brunskill, Bertram Somers, John Hodgins, Alfred Griffin, all nephews and John McGregor. - Ingersoll Tribune, Jun 20, 1957
