Walt was an uncomplicated man and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He was not prone to voice his opinions, but one always knew where one stood with him. He simply lived life to his uncompromising standards and was a great role model to anyone who ever spent any time around him.
He never complained, but rather, was stoic in thought and deed. And while the end of his life was not sudden or without fear or pain, he never let on how difficult it was. He earned respect from anyone who took the time to get to know him and was easy to love. We should all be so lucky as to have earned the love of another as he did with Merida. She loved him that much for a reason and that reason was his kindness, patience, resolve, honesty, and generosity.
He will be missed, but heaven is better off now. We had him for 84 years; now it is God’s turn.
