No more pain, no more sorrow, James Alexis, Jr. of La Place, La. went to his heavenly home on December 12, 2007 at the age of 83. He was born the second of fourteen children to the late James Alexis, Sr. and Gertrude Lee Alexis in Thibodaux, Louisiana on August 26, 1924. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served his country in WWII.
Loving Father of Jason J. Alexis Sr., Carol Alexis Clark, Hendricks Alexis, James Anthony Alexis, Mary Alexis Daniels (Larry) and Winifred Alexis Singleton. Cherishing his memory are twenty grandchildren; and twenty eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn: three brothers, Reginald Alexis (Marie), Leroy Alexis, Norman Alexis (Mandy); four sisters, Ruth Marshall (Morris), Jessie Alexis Duclues, Elouise Alexis Howard, Delores Alexis Muhammad; an Uncle, Newton Lee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
James was preceded in death by his Beloved wife, Mary Baserine Cador Alexis and his son Abraham Paul Alexis.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1908 Short Street, Kenner, La. 70062. Funeral Services followed with interment at the Providence Memorial Park, Metairie, La.. Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson was in charge of arrangements.
