The Civil War started in 1861. All five of Micah & Jemima's sons (Moran, Ephraim, Posey, Shadrack, and John) joined the Confederacy. One can only imagine the sadness in the family when four were killed. Only their son, John, survived.

"GEORGIA, JACKSON COUNTY. - Whereas Micah Wilson, applies to me for letters of administration of the estate of Shadrick Wilson, late of said county dec'd.

There are therefore, to cite and admonish all and singular, the next of kin and creditors of said deceased, to be and appear at my office within the time allowed by law, and show cause if any they have, why letters of administration should not issue to the applicant, on the estate of said deceased.
