Gertrude Mary Sheridan, 87, formerly of 414 Walker St. Fond du Lac, and a resident of 60 Southlake Lane Apt. C passed away Thursday September 29, 2005, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
She was born November 23, 1917 in the Town of Lamartine, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Lena Daniels LaFore.
On June 7, 1943 she married John “Jack” B. Sheridan at St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac.
Gertrude worked for Wells Manufacturing in Fond du Lac for 21 years until her retirement in 1982.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish, and a charter member of Sacred Heart Church, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary, Post # 1904.
Survivors include 7 children, Patricia (David) Casetta, Stephen (Kerry) Sheridan, John (Shirley) Sheridan, Suzanne (Michael) Nelson all of Fond du Lac; Barbara (Allan) Stephany and Mary (Gary) Shafer all of Mt. Calvary, WI; Gloria (David) Claus of North Fond du Lac; 19 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; also by 2 nieces, 1 nephew and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband John B. Sheridan in September 1982, a grandson, Richard Stephany, and one brother Edwin LaFore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday October 3rd, 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Patrick Heppe will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home with a parish vigil service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held on Monday at the church from 9:00 AM until the start of Mass at 11:00 AM.
Memorials in her name may be directed to the Salvation Army.
