Mrs. Stroupe was born June 11,1948 in Buncombe County to the late Lester Boone and the late Virgie Edwards Boone Gregory and had resided in Madison County before making her home in Canton for the past 21 years. Recently Marjorie made the decision to move to Mars Hill where she has resided for the past 3 years to be close and near to her family. Mrs. Stroupe was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She was a devoted homemaker and had also worked as a certified nursing assistant throughout her lifetime. Marjorie brought much joy to the people that she loved and she touched many lives with her kind and caring heart. A happy memory of Marjorie that shall always be remembered was her devotion to the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team and she was definitely a fan of the late Conway Twitty country music star. Marjorie was a kind and loving lady and we give thanks for her blessed life on this earth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Stroupe who passed away in 2012; a daughter, Regina Honeycutt, sisters, Joyce Ammons and Judy Boone; brothers, Earl, Tommy and Jerry Boone and also Charles Gregory ; and Marjorie’s little Bassett Hound, “Slugger” who was loved just like a child.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Morris ( Jeff Rogers ) of Mars Hill; grandchildren, Paige Morris of Mars Hill, Jules Hensley (Andrew Hensley) of Marshall; great- grandchildren, Bentley Hensley and Adilyn Fore ; sisters, Syvillia Whitaker, Diane Holland; brothers, Alvin and Jimmy Boone and Dean Gregory; special friends, Doris Haney, Estalina Hipps and Teresa Laws ; also numerous nieces , nephews and cousins. Marjorie’s friends at the Canton Moose Lodge will also miss her deeply.
