Regiment, died at his residence on the
Manchester road, near this city, from
general debility, after a few hours illness,
on Tuesday, June 20th, 1916, aged
83 yeatrs. He is survived by his widow
and two sons, Samuel, of Washington
City, and Jesse, at the home, and a
number of grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren, and two sisters.
He enlisted August 8th, 1862 and served
through the war until the close, and
never was sick, wounded or taken prisoner
and was discharged June 20th,
1865. He was a hard working and honorable
man and was held high esteem by all who knew him. His death leaves 16 members of Co. A who
went from this county.
Funeral services will be held this Friday
morning at 10 o'clock at St. John's
Lutheran church, Brummel, conducted
by Rev. Wm.F. Hersh, his pastor. In
terment in adjoining cemetery. Years
ago he was a member of Burns Post, G.
A. R., members of whom will attend his
funeral, but not able to be his pallbearers.
The following neighbors will be
the pallbearers: Messrs. Wm. F. Lucabaugh,
Jesse C. Null, Joseph Wimert,
Frank Hunter, Albert Barnes and Noah
Hosfeldt. F. C. Sharrer, funeral director.
