Floyd “Buddy” Oney, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home Monday, June 3, 2019. He was born August 4, 1952 in Marshall, TX, the son of Floyd Oney, Sr. and Lena Kate. Buddy married Janie Davis in 1978 in Texarkana, AR and lived in the Valliant area for the past 50 years. He enjoyed golf, playing poker, watching the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. Buddy loved spending time with the neighborhood children and especially playing with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Boyenga, Lena Faye Oglethorpe, and Patricia Engle; one brother, Harold Oney.
Survivors Include: his wife of 41 years, Janie Oney; Son, Jonathan Todd Oney of Palm Springs, CA; Daughters, Tiffanie Oney and Brian Fowler of Hugo, OK; Tessa Oney and Jarrett Inzer of Valliant, OK; Brother, Glenwood Oney of Marshall, TX; Sisters, Vivian Davidson of Marshall, TX, Peggy Ellis of Bossier City, LA; Grandchildren, Jamie Vega, Jerry Meek, Jr., Clea Meek, Cadyn Meek, Lilly Smith, and one on the way Jonathan Leslie Inzer, along with many loved family and friends.
