Mother, Lydia & infant daughter, Mary Eva, who tragically lost their lives when the SS Lusitania was sunk in WW1.Lydia Grandidge was taking her small daughter to visit an ailing family member in England. The two were booked in second class on the Lusitania and perished in the disaster. Lydia's body was not recovered.

In Loving Memory of William Baxendale Stead of Wortley who died December 18th 1911 aged 30 years. Until the day breaks and the shadows flee away also Lydia and Eva May aged 31 and 3.1/2 years, the beloved wife and daughter of Arthur Grandidge late of Armley who lost their lives by the sinking of the SS Lusitania on May 7th 1915.
