Cesira (Necci) Balish, 90, of Mentor, passed away Friday September 15, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 3, 1927 in Cleveland.
Cesira was an outstanding cook, she always hosted holiday dinners for both sides of the family. She always kept a supply of baked goods in the freezer to always have on hand when company came over. She was the ultimate hostess. Cesira enjoyed cake decorating, candy making and ceramic classes, bingo and going out to lunch with the ladies. She was a bowler at one point.
Cesira married the love of her life Gerald in 1951. She worked outside the home at General Electric, Nela Park until her first pregnancy, then her job became raising her four children and she was awesome at it, her family always came first. Cesira loved God and going to mass at St. John Vianney Church. She would pray the rosary for everyone, every day. The world is less without her.
Survivors include her children, Jeff (Madelyn Daugherty) Balish, Debbie Anderson, Paula Balish Kirkland and Cindy Balish Johnson; grandchildren, Joey and Lindsey Anderson, Scott (Lisa) Johnson, Elizabeth McKenney and great-grandson, Antonio.
Cesira was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Gerald Balish; granddaughters, Lauren Balish and Kristin Balish; grandson, Michael Gerald Anderson; parents, Michael and Mary Necci and son in law, Edward Johnson.
Funeral Mass will be 9:30 am Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Please meet at the church.
