EMPLOYE DIES AT KENNECOTT

Bingham Canyon - Frank Akita, 56, 11600 S. 27th West, Riverton, a lubrication man at Kennecott Copper Corp.'s Bingham mine, was killed about 6 p.m. Monday in an industrial accident.
Ken Kefauver, communication director for the firm said the victim was working on a shovel loader, adding details of the accident are under investigation.

Riverton - Frank Kenji Akita, 56, of Riverton, died Dec. 2, 1974, in a Salt Lake hospital from injuries suffered in an accident at Kennecott Copper Corp.
Born Oct 7, 1918, in Salt Lake City to Uhelji and Sakaye Oka Akita. Married Mary Takasugi, May 19, 1946, in Salt Lake City. Lube and service truck driver for Kennecott Copper Corp. Veteran World War II; owned and operated large farm in Riverton.
Survivors: wife; son, daughters: Richard Y., Salt Lake City; Frances M., Christina T., both Ogden; brother, sisters; Mrs. Tadao (Ruby) Ushio, Salt Lake City; Joe, Culver City, Calif.; Mrs. Kaz (Nobuko) Sato, Garden Grove, Calif.
Funeral Saturday, noon, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, where friends call Friday, 6-8 p.m., and Saturday an hour before services. Burial, Redwood Memorial Estates.
