Agnes (Szymczak) Karnafel, of Medford, passed away on Friday, February 1st. She was 90. Born and raised in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Catherine (Watchikooska) Szymczak.

Agnes was an avid Red Sox fan she enjoyed watching as many games as she could from the comfort of her own home. She was great with her hands, being creative came naturally for Agnes and her creations were absolutely beautiful. After her retirement from the state, Agnes enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center.

Agnes was the beloved wife of the late Walter J. Karnafel. She was the devoted mother of Linda M. Karnafel, Walter J. Karnafel Jr., and his wife Linda Rivers and Paul E. Karnafel and his wife Cheryl. She was the loving grandmother of Walter E. Karnafel, and the dear sister of Helen Jankowiak and the late Josephine, Edward and Mary, and the caring aunt of Deborah Karnafel Walsh and the late Vincent Karnafel.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, February 5th from 9 to 11 AM at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
