"My wife Cornelia" is named in Anthony Rutgers will dated 2 Aug 1746.

Will dated 2 August 1746 proved 17 Sep 1746, called Anthony Rutgers of New York, brewer, to be buried at the discrestion of my wife Cornelia. Leaves to her all his real and personal estate, in the event of her remarriage she is to receive "two of my negro slaves and also the sum of fifty pounds yearly and every year from and after such marriage. After her death or her remarriage I do leave and dispose of all the rest residue and remainder of my whole estate real and personal as follows: unto the children of my deceaed son Petrus the sum of one thousand pounds to be shared equally. To daughter Anneke the wife of Charles Crooke the sum of one thousand pounds, 300 pounds of which shall by her be put out at interest for the use and benefit of her son ___ who is blind. To daughter Catherine the wife of Abraham Lynsen(?) 1300 pounds to be put by her for the use and benefit of her eldest daughter by her former husband Thomas Thong." To grandson Anthony son of deceased son Anthony, his dwelling house, brew house, malt house and mills with other buildings and improvements erected on eight lots of ground fronting Maiden Lane in New York City. Also mentions "his (meaning grandson Anthony's) three aunts", Elshe the wife of Leonard Sispenaer, "my daughter Mary Rutgers and Alletta the wife of Derrick Leffarts...my three daughters," and daughter-in-law Margaret the widow of deceased son Anthony.
