Larry Nicholson was born on December 26, 1959 to the late Eunice Nicholson, Jr. and Catherine Pullen Nicholson. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Nicholson. He grew up in Enfield, NC and was educated in the Halifax County public school system. He was the all-star basketball player for Eastman Kodak Camera Enfield North Carolina.

Larry enjoyed spending a lot of time with his family and friends and was very family oriented. He loved his children and grandchildren. He was a loving and caring man, known for his jokes and laughing with family and friends. He was a "ladies man" who enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing, and building clocks. He was the local handyman who didn’t mind helping anyone. He was very outgoing, outspoken, genuine, and known as the life of the party. He loved the Washington “Redskins” football team. He worked in construction and was very artistic with his hands. He was one of the best bricklayers in the (757), helping build a majority of Downtown Norfolk.

In September '83, Larry met the love of his life, Angela Baker. They started dating and were married on November 18, 1991 in Warren County, North Carolina. He leaves to cherish his memories six children, Tameika Nicholson of Norfolk, VA, Larry Nicholson, Jr. of Norfolk, VA, Katherine Baker of Norfolk, VA, Quentin Baker of Norfolk, VA, Tamiko (Kareem) Agard of Charlotte, NC, Lasira Nicholson of Suffolk, VA; fourteen grandchildren; wife Angela Baker Nicholson; six sisters, Dorothy (Lafayette) Nicholson of Enfield, NC, Sylvia (Charles Bernard) Britt of Rocky Mount, NC, Mildred (Allan) Williams of Nashville, NC, Prisalla Nicholson of Rocky Mount, NC, Carolyn (Connell Conyers) of Enfield, NC, Cynthia (Dennis) Mills of Nashville, NC, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Chapel, 7246 Granby Street Norfolk VA. Interment will follow at White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, 1612 White Oak Road Enfield NC.
