William (Bill) Daniels, age 95 of Nashville, Tennessee, died peacefully at his home on July 29, 2017. He was born in Freeburn, Kentucky and served honorably in World War II, under the leadership of General George Patton's 10th Infantry Diamond Division and was wounded on the battlefield near the town of Saint-Lo, France.

He met the love of his life, Athleen after being discharged from Thayer Army Hospital in Nashville. He enrolled in Nashville Business School and started his career in helping other wounded servicemen and women with the Veteran's Administration claims division. He was a Scoutmaster for several years for Troop 98 and was also a Little League baseball coach. Over the years he was active in his Christian faith serving as Deacon at Saturn Drive Baptist Church and later a member of Glenwood Baptist Church. After retirement, he established a small engine repair business. An avid outdoorsman; enjoying fishing and duck hunting. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and was well known for his kindness, good humor and always being of help to others.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Athleen Burton Daniels; parents, Harrison Daniels and Zella Estepp; his sister, Opal "Jo" Daniels Estepp; brothers, Richard Daniels and Ray Daniels; sisters, Mary "Gerge" Daniels Wilhite and Mildred Daniels Asbury.

He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Daniels(Col. Michael Harley); son, Charles W. Daniels(Nancy); and Dwayne H. Daniels. Also survived by his granddaughters, Patti L. Polk and Anna-Claire Daniels
