Harvey Murphy, 75, a resident of Judy Ridge Road, Cynthiana, died Saturday, Sept, 27, 2003 at his residence.

He was born in Pike County, Aug, 21, 1928, to the late John and Della Stanley Murphy. He was a former coal miner and a Korean War Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Murphy, and a great-grandson, Tyler Crosthwaite.

Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Joyce "Dixie" Murphy; five sons, Tom (Barb) Murphy and John (Shelia) Murphy, both of Scott County; Bob Murphy and Omer (Kathy) Murphy, both of Harrison County, and Joe (Carol) Murphy of North Vernon, Ind.; two brothers, Dover Murphy of Butler, and Eugene Murphy, Berry; four sisters, Mary Lois Ball and Loretha Helvey, both of Cynthiana. Claudia Gross of Paris, and Lucille Simpson of Lexington; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Pythian Grove Cemetery by Bro. Jeff Robinson. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Pallbearers were: William Thomas Murphy, Adam Clay Murphy, Joseph Daniel Murphy, and James Douglas Murphy.
