After her retirement in 1985, she became a volunteer at Bristol Hospital working there for 25 years before retiring in 2011. Josephine was a founding and charter member of the Grace Nesci Lodge # 1826 Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) since the lodge’s inception in 1967. She served as president of the lodge and was recording secretary for many years. On the state level of OSIA, she served for many years as Corresponding Secretary and, upon retiring from office, was given the honor of State Officer Emeritus for lifetime. Josephine’s greatest pleasure in life was time spent with her family, all of whom she loved very much. She was an avid traveler, her favorite destination being California where she made countless trips to visit her son and family.
