LINDEN, Texas—Sammie Lee Hayden "Slick" Rose, 64, of Atlanta, Texas, died recently. Mr. Rose was born March 23, 1954, in Atlanta. He was a member of People Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas. Survivors include his wife, Giselle Crow Rose; two sons, Glennise Rose and Samme Rose Jr. of Dallas; seven sisters, Rosie Hunter, Melvinia Webster, Mary Hunter, Diane Hayden, Jo Linda Warren, Doris Casteel and Virginia White of Atlanta; five brothers, Lenzy Hayden, Charles Hayden and Gary Hayden of Dallas and Elbert Hayden and Franklin Hayden of Atlanta; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Gum Springs CME Church, Douglassville, Texas, with the Rev. Patricia Fuller and Elder Herbert Harper officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery under direction of Linden Funeral Home. The body may be viewed before services Saturday at the church.
