Captain Steinberg was flying in Harvard (#FE393) aircraft which was being piloted by RCAF Flight Lieutenant Llewellyn Evan Price. The aircraft was on a cross country flight between Bagotville and Quebec City. A search, initiated when F/L Price failed to report in at Ancienne Lorette, Quebec, ended when the crashed Harvard was found near St. Urbain. Both Captain Steinberg and F/L PRICE perished in the accident.

Captain Steinberg was a graduate of McGill University and received his dentistry degree in 1927. He enlisted in the Canadian Dental Corps on 21 Jan 1942. Attached to the Royal Canadian Air Force, he was on his way home on leave when the accident happened.

Son of Moses and Nellie Steinberg of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; husband of Dora Steinberg of Outremont, Quebec; father of Naomi and Judith.
