Parents: Albert Emmet Goodard (1846–1919) and Nellie Clair Shaw (1870–1947). Albert enlisted in Company D, Pennsylvania 103rd Infantry Regiment on 25 September 1861 at age 17. He was a Private. He and almost the entire 103rd Pennsylvania were captured at Plymouth, NC 20 April 1864 and sent to Andersonville Prison in Georgia where about half of the 103rd Pennsylvania died. He left prison November 30, 1864. He was mustered out of the army 25 June 1865 at New Berne, NC. He died 01 April 1919 at Howell, Missouri.
Worked as a store floor manager in Ohio, moved to Arizona in 1960.
Was treasurer of Senior Citizen's Club in Phoenix.
Died at Highland Manor Nursing Home in Phoenix.
One son and two daughters.
