She would go on to help produce, write, and act in the five films that featured her husband's main character 'Billy Jack', a half-white, half-Native American Vietnam War veteran who defended youthful members of the counterculture from authorities who just didn't understand them. Her film credits included "The Born Losers" (1967), "Billy Jack" (1971), "The Trial of Billy Jack" (1974), "Billy Jack Goes to Washington" (1977), and "The Return of Billy Jack" (1986). She was nominated for the Most Promising Newcomer - Female Golden Globe Award in 1972 for her role in "Billy Jack."
