Matt Graham, Jr., received a letter from Mrs. Thos. Banwell, of England, dated Jan. 18th, stating that her husband died on his way home from New York, and was buried at sea. He had been out only two days from N.Y. [December 1887] when he died. Mrs. Banwell says she “expected him home on New Year’s day, and did not dream that he was so ill in Idaho.” Mr. Banwell was taken sick last fall, with consumption, in Silver District, this county, and was brought to this place, where he remained a few weeks before starting for home. Besides a wife, he leaves two small children to mourn his loss. “Idaho Semi-Weekly World”, Idaho City, Idaho, Friday, 6 April 1888, p. 1
