Our Great-Aunt Margaret Josephine Abel was born in Decatur, Illinois on June 13, 1899 to Anthony Peter (Tony) and Mary Kennedy Abel. The family moved to Danville in approximately 1906. Margaret married Evan Williams on November 26, 1920. The couple moved from Danville to Chicago in 1922, when Evan transferred with the department store he worked for, to become the store manager.

Margaret and Evan had three children - Jack Williams, born in 1921; Peggy Williams, born in 1924 and Kathleen Williams, born in 1926.

Our Great-Aunt Margaret, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 1928, at her Father's home in Danville, Illinois. She was taken ill eight months prior and brought to her Father's home where he took care of her until her death. A funeral Mass was held for Margaret on Wednesday, December 26, 1928, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville. Margaret was laid to rest at St. Patrick's Cemetery (now Resurrection Cemetery) in Danville - though her exact resting place is unknown.

I wish I knew more about Margaret and had photos of her. She was almost never mentioned while I was growing up, but she passed away thirty years before I was born.

Peace be with Margaret and all who love her.
