Manitowoc - Billy Jon Treder, age 61, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, died early Thursday morning, February 8, 2018 at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc,
Billy was born on April 2, 1956 in Manitowoc, son of the late Earl G. and Leona E. (Hallwachs) Treder. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1974 and continued his education at UW Manitowoc and Madison. Billy worked for the City of Manitowoc, first as a policeman and then as a bridgetender, retiring in 2015. He had a great love of the northwoods and being outdoors, and also enjoyed history, trains, and the Green Bay Packers. Family was very important to him.
Survivors include Billy's brother, Otter, Arizona; sister, Janis King, Manitowoc; nephew, Brett Holbrook (children Emma and Logan), all of Gainesville, FL; and a very special friend, Amy Sheck, Manitowoc. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Nancy (Windus Holbrook) Jeffries.
Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Per Billy's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Scott Hirssig officiating.
