William Trumbull was born in Woodbury, Litchfield County, CT and later served in the Revolutionary War. He married Rachel Cole of Sharon, CT. He received a pension for his service. He moved to Ephratah, NY about 1792 and farmed there until his death in 1835. His soldiers pension application papers give quite a bit of information about the family.
