Actor, Television Program Director. While attending Stanford University in Stanford, California he was spotted by a Hollywood talent scout which led to a contract with Paramount Motion Picture Studies. Following a few minor roles, he was cast as 'Sergeant Johnson' in the acclaimed film "Stalag 17" (1953). He then served as an intelligence officer with the United States Navy and following his return home, he resumed his film career with the picture "The Tin Star" (1957). This was followed with the pictures "Teacher's Pet" (1958), "The Trap" (1959) and "Love in Rome" (1960). Additionally, he appeared in numerous television programs which include "The Untouchables", "Perry Mason" and "Ben Casey". During the early 1960s, Baldwin turned to directing and was behind the camera for many television programs which include "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "The Andy Griffith Show", "The Partridge Family", "Love, American Style" and "Newhart". He received an Emmy Award nomination for "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (1972) and earned an Emmy Award for "The Wonder Years" (1989).
