Rock Musician. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he was best known as the co-founder, rhythm guitarist and a principal songwriter for the rock group AC/DC. Considered the driving force behind the band, he was responsible for the composition of many of the group's biggest hits, co-writing radio staples such as: "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," "Shoot to Thrill" and "You Shook Me All Night Long." In 2003, AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Following a nearly continuous forty-one year run with the band, he was forced to retire in September 2014 due to health issues stemming from his long time battle with dementia.
