James Breen, was born in Georgia, his father immigrated to America, from Ireland, his mother was b. in Pennsylvania. In his adult year's he was an adept at smelting and mining, and was eagerly sought-after by master mining metallurgists; the Norman bros. "Ben and Billy", and three Montana Copper King's; William Clark, Marcus Daly and Fritz Augustus Heinze. Mr. Breen was a heavy stock holder of the BIRCHWOOD FARM CO. (BFC) located at Nine Mile Falls, Wash., directly across the street from (SPOKANE HOUSE/MUSEUM) Old Hudson Bay Co. site. Breen is considered to be a Pacific Northwest Mining King. He held two (BFC) stocks) entitling him to a piece of Birchwood Farm property. He was an owner of mines, including the Northport Smelter/Mining Co., and co-owner; of the Le Roi Mine, Norman Mines, Rossland B. C.,-Trail Smelter, among many other's located in the (PNW). Breen moved from his former residence, to the McCornick Building in Utah, into the Hotel Spokane, where he was part owner, w/Norman bros., and part owner of the Broadwater Hotel, Helena Montana w/Heinze, under-Hayes-Monnett lease.

See: Suzanne Andrews pic above, James Breen was interred on Aug. 12, 1925- in the O'Farrell plot. There's no headstone for James Breen, but a little funeral marker, w/faint letters, hard to read.
