Mr. Holt was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for CSX Railroad and later worked for and retired from Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany.
Mr. Holt loved spending time with his grandchildren and working in his daylilies and ferns. He was a faithful member, Sunday School teacher, Church Clerk and Deacon of Evergreen Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Janice Pate Holt of Worth County; children, Nancy Holt of Statesboro and Brian Holt (Melissa) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Audrey, Zachary and Levi Holt; brother, Danny Holt (Faye) of Terrell County; mother-in-law, Preble Pate of Worth County; brother-in-law, Roger Pate (Judy) of Lee County; nephews, Ben Holt, Scott Holt (Brittany) and niece, Jill Barlow, and several great nieces and nephews.
