Glyn Church, of Batavia, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Midlothian, Texas surrounded by his family at the age of 82.

The son of Sherman and Mattie (Music) Church was born November 29, 1934 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

He was a resident of Batavia for 42 years, moving from Dallas, Texas and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a Bishop with The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Harrison Ward. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was kind and caring, always ready to help anyone in need. Glyn adored his wife Betty, she was the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Mattie Church, his sister, Bernice Hines and his son, Wayne McCutcheon.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty Church; three grandchildren, Jeremy McCutcheon and wife Amanda, Brian McCutcheon and wife Rachel and Laura Bell and husband Brian; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Union Hill Cemetery near Parthenon. There will be no visitation.

Glyn was also survived by children from his first marriage to Patricia A Vail. They are Sherman William Church II, Teresa Mae Church Woodside, Darlene Ann Church Wilson and Glyn Dean Church Jr. From these children are 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. As of 6 Nov 2022, Glyn has 11 great grandchildren.
