CMSgt (Ret.) George E. Belock, 87, passed away on August 23, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.

His parents, Charles and Mary Belock, both came from Czechoslovakia in the early 1900s and George was born in Rutland, VT on November 3, 1929, the tenth of 10 children.

He spent 27 years in the USAF and also retired from the Naval Aviation Depot in Norfolk, VA. He was a pharmacy volunteer at Langley AFB, VA for 23 years. He and his wife, Ruby, lived in Hampton, VA for over 40 years before they moved to Indian Harbour Beach, FL in 2015.

After final retirement, George and Ruby made many cross-country road trips, reconnecting with friends from military life and seeing the sights he had only read about.

George was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Hyden, three sisters and five brothers, as well as his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby, son Tim Belock (Tina) of Corpus Christi, TX; son Jay Hyden (Heidi) of Gulfport, FL; daughter Mandy Bailey (Ron) of Indian Harbour Beach, FL and grandsons Jesse, Jacob and Matthew Belock; granddaughter Caitlin Belock Bailey, brother Andrew Belock of Rutland, VT and numerous nieces and nephews. He was buried with full military honors at the Cape Canaveral National Veterans’ Cemetery in Cape Canaveral, Florida on August 25, 2017.
