Tudor Anders, Able Seaman, on the ship “Langdale” sailing from London to Honolulu, fell from the mast when, on 25 October 1901, he went aloft to furl the upper forestaysail. In a sudden squall, he lost his balance and fell to the deck, 30 feet below.
